what is this?

Dumluck sends you a personalized weekly horoscope based on your birth chart. Every Sunday, you get an email covering the week ahead — what to focus on each day, and why (from an astrological perspective).

Unlike generic horoscopes that only use your sun sign, this tracks where the Moon is moving through your specific chart, which changes the meaning for each person. It's a free newsletter. No account, no password.

why do you need my birth data?

The signup form asks for more than a typical newsletter because the horoscope is calculated for your chart specifically, not a generic sun sign.

• Birth date — used to calculate your sun and moon signs.
• Birth time — used to calculate your rising sign, which determines which area of life the Moon is activating each day. The rising sign changes roughly every two hours, so the time matters.
• Birth location — used to get the timezone for an accurate rising sign calculation.

Your birth time is usually on the long-form birth certificate. If you can't find it, ask a parent or check hospital records. If you genuinely don't know it, entering noon will still work — you'll just get a less accurate rising sign.

do I need to believe in astrology?

No. You can use this as a structured prompt for self-reflection without believing the planets are causing anything.

Astrology is a very old system for categorizing time and human experience. Whether it "works" because of celestial influence or because it's a useful framework for thinking about your life — that's up to you. Many people find value in it either way.

The horoscopes here are intentionally practical, not mystical. No "the universe wants you to..." or "cosmic energy is aligning..." — just concrete suggestions framed around the astrological context of the day.

what's in the weekly email?

Each email includes:

• A "bigger picture" overview of the week's themes
• An entry for each day (Sunday through Saturday) with:
  • The Moon's sign, which house it's in for you, and the lunar phase
  • Any planets in retrograde
  • Practical guidance for the day
  • A brief explanation of the astrological reasoning
