how scores work

Each day in your weekly email shows an intensity indicator — five dots, some filled, some empty. The dots reflect how astrologically active that day is for you specifically.

●●●●● means a moderately active day. ●●●●● means the most intense. ●●●●● means a quiet day.

what goes into the score

The score is a sum of all significant aspects the Moon makes that day, plus a bonus for New and Full Moons. Each aspect is weighted by two things: how strong the aspect type is, and which planet is involved.

aspect weights

Some angles between the Moon and a planet are stronger than others.

aspectweight
conjunction (0°)5.0
opposition (180°)4.0
square (90°)3.5
trine (120°)2.5
sextile (60°)1.5

planet weights

Slower outer planets have stronger gravitational pull in a chart and are weighted higher.

planetweight
Saturn5.0
Jupiter4.0
Mars3.0
Venus2.0
Mercury2.0
Sun1.5

orb tightness

A tighter orb (closer to the exact angle) scores higher. An aspect at 0° orb scores at full weight; one at the maximum orb scores near zero.

natal aspects

When the Moon aspects a planet in your natal chart (not just the current sky), it's hitting something personal to you, not just the collective weather. These score the same as transiting aspects at the same orb and planet weight — but they're the reason your email reads differently from someone else's for the same week.

lunar phase bonus

New Moon and Full Moon days get +2 added to their score, reflecting their heightened significance.
